Terms of Service
The rules of using Homefield. Written for the parent who holds the account.
Version DRAFT Not effective until lawyer review
What this document is
These terms are the agreement between the parent or legal guardian who holds a Homefield account and Homefield. By creating an account, the parent agrees to these terms. If they do not agree, they should not create the account.
What Homefield collects, and how it is used, is in the Privacy Policy rather than here.
Who can use Homefield
- Homefield is used by children. A parent or legal guardian holds the account. Children do not sign up.
- The parent must be 18 or older, and must have the legal authority to consent to the child's use.
- Homefield is designed for children aged 8 to 16.
The account
- The parent is responsible for the account credentials and for anything done under the account.
- A parent may add up to a number of child profiles per plan (see Pricing).
- The account can be deleted from inside the app at any time. Deletion removes the parent account and every child profile under it.
Subscriptions and payment
- The Player Card is free forever. Everything else is a 7-day trial that becomes a paid subscription.
- Payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store), under their terms. Homefield does not see card details.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period. It can be cancelled at any time through the app store.
- Prices are shown in the app store before purchase.
Refunds
Refunds are processed under the app store's refund policy. Homefield does not process refunds directly.
Where we can advocate for a refund on the parent's behalf, we will. Contact support@homefieldcoach.com.
What Homefield does and does not promise
- Homefield provides coaching content and camera-based practice analysis. It is not medical, physiotherapy, or injury-screening advice. A score is not a health claim.
- Homefield does not guarantee that a child will improve at their sport, make a team, or reach any specific level of play.
- Homefield does not guarantee that the app will be available at all times, that scores will be perfectly accurate, or that features will remain unchanged.
What a parent agrees not to do
- Not use the app in a way that could harm the child — for example, pushing a child past age-appropriate activity levels.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or interfere with the app or its infrastructure.
- Not upload content of anyone other than their own child.
- Not use the app to impersonate another person or misrepresent a child's identity or age.
Intellectual property
Homefield and its content — the app, the drills, the coaching structure, the Player Card design — belong to Homefield. Practice video uploaded by a parent belongs to that parent; Homefield uses it only to provide the service.
A Player Card is generated for the parent to share as they wish, with the child's first name, badge and sports on it, and no age.
If something goes wrong
Homefield is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Homefield is not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Where a law protects a consumer or a child in a way that cannot be waived by contract, that law applies regardless of what this document says.
Governing law
[LAWYER TO SPECIFY.] The founder is based in Texas; the primary market is India. Choice-of-law and jurisdiction clauses need specific drafting.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the version and date at the top change with them. A material change is notified in the app and by email to the account holder, and continued use after the notice period is acceptance.
